Whats up jet ski guys i need some advice ASAP!
i currently own a stock 1999 js550 and a 1994 750sx non running
js550
- stock
750sx
- front: 210psi rear: 190psi
- MRD Fuel Injection
- MSD total loss with Programmer II
- Full skat trak pump
- MSD Twist head
- welded and trued cranks
- custom hull reinforced
- sponged gas tank
- completely custom JetPro pipe
- Pj's eBox
Now the 750 had a faulty negative terminal that broke off while i was riding resulting in the loss of my coil and most likely my obsolete total loss system. all my parts are from the 90's raced by a racer who broke his foot then moved onto sit down racing. it was built by a Kawasaki mechanic and its a lot of a race boat for me.. prices of parts add up to around $3000
i got offered by a huge jet ski enthusiast who knows every but about stand ups their is and their history to convert my 550 to a nice reliable 650 conversion with mild mods and tuned ready to go with minor hull reinforcing.. worth around $2000 when set and done. all i have to do is give him my 750 as is.
ADVICE NEEDED: Should i spend the money and fix the 750? im not too good with constant maintenance and tune ups.. or give him my ski and have him covert my 550 to a 650.. he said i should have very reliable ski and fast (good power to weight ratio). thats all I'm asking for im just doing recreational riding around the delta and bay area lakes, i like to jump, sub, and screw around all day and get better at freestyle..
my bother thinks im a complete idiot for even considering this trade, he says who the hell freestyles 550's and a 750 is way better just fix that.. im not sure its just too modified for me and i just want a fast 550 and this seems good.
ANY INPUT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
thanks a lot RP
