im planning to buy a advent ignition for my ski,i got wet pipe ,head, tbm flywheel,v force 3,do im gonna see a big improvement,i also got a dea l on a cdir9 which one is the best?does the performance gain will be noticable?

every advent comes with 4 different curves. get the external switch so you can try different ones. depending on your compression you might not be able to run certain curves without race gas. Chances are with a stock head and stock compression you should be able to crank it right up. If you send me a pm of what curves you are ordering and your compression i can help you out. :)

I have seen many Advent SX-R ignitions fail after use, and act like they have a mind of their own. Spend your money elsewhere. A lot of the region 6 guys just ran MSD enhancers on their limiteds and mild super-stocks, and they ran MSD total loss on full super-stock skis with NO issues aside from maybe some physical abuse or normal wear and tear. Advents were always going wild on skis around here after not much run-time.

Unfortunately MSD does not make an drop in ignition for the SXR, neither does ATP. I have a buddy that's been thru 3 of the Advents now. He's switching over to Yamaha ignition on his new build just because he's so sick of buying Advents every other season.

Webster at WF's said total failures are a thing of the past for Advent. The switch to billet cases is to permit faulty component failure. Yes there has been plenty of failures in the past but we can hope that he is correct. T4 is always an option and offers so options. Igni-Pro is another option, we will see how they last. Lots of Advents been in use for years without failure also. Roll of the dice with any of the aftermarket ignitions it seems, there are more "MSD T/L no spark" threads than any other ignition. ATP EPICs have not been all smooth sailing either. Igni-Pro, Advent or MSD T/L are your only options, but understand that timing advance in certain parts of the rpm range will give you night and day gains, just another part of the puzzle. Call Kommander.

just decided to throw my money at another place for now, just go to a new prop swap and a pump stuffer, and wait since 4 full mounth now for my tbm flywheel, back order at tbm... maby the next step gonna be the igni pro ignition, a saw one at macraccing....blowsion sell the same just wait to got some positive feedback on those.....seem like a lots of people got failure whit the advent......maybe new year,if i spend to much my wife gonna freak out!!!!!

never had an advent t3 go bad on me nor a t4 for that matter.do have issues with a billet t3 for zxi triple but going back to kommander for upgrade.
a msd enhancer for sxi can be used in sxr once oem adapter harness is removed in the ig box.this reverts to a pre 2004 sxr/sxi wiring setup.this allows you to run any sxi ignition.
