advent ignition question

i havent been running my advent for a while and went to install it in a superjet yesterday and couldn't remember where the two red wires with black stripes go. all the other wires matched up and i did hook up the extra red power wire. Advent hasn't responded to my email and my instructions don't say anything and neither do the website instructions. Anybody have one and remember what they are?

I don't have an Advent in front of me now, but I don't recall red wires with black tracers on it. Are you the original owner of this from when it was new? If not, does it look like someone modified it?

Here is a segment of the Yamaha 701 instructions copy and pasted from the .pdf instructions. It does not explicitely mention a wire that is red with black tracer and regarding the connect each matching color to the existing OEM colors, I do not know of an OEM red with black wire in there, so something is strange.

However, if the two red wires with black stripes that you are talking about are soldered/crimped together with a waterproof bullet connector such that one available red/black is male and the other is female (and you are sure that this box is for a Yamaha 701) then I think they are the wires that go in series with an existing red connection.

Hope this helps.

Install the programmed Super Jet Ignition into the Electronics Module.
1. Re-attach all wires exception of matching colors. You will end up with a Red wire from the T3 Ignition and a Brown/White
in the electronics box.
2. Locate the Brown/White wire then cover the connector end with black electrical tape and set it aside.
3. Locate the Red wire from the T3 Ignition. The wire is fitted with both a male and female in-line connectors.
4. Find a red wire with in-line connectors close to the T3 ignition and separate this connector pair.
5. Connect the T3 Ignition Red male plug into the Red female socket in the electrical box.
6. Connect the T3 Ignition Red female socket into the Red male plug in the electrical box.

same instructions i read, but thanks for looking them up, both of the wires I'm talking about have female connections. I though maybe they were from the water inj. but those are the grey ones. Everything is hook up except those and the ski fires, it just make me wonder what those wires are.
