It was one of the best things i ever did, cheapest too. I did 2mm at first and then went to 3 with no issues either. I've got friends running as high as 4 but I have never tried it.

I still have never put a timing light on any of my engines to set baseline, which would be a really good idea. IMO when there is that one ski that runs harder than any other ski, it's usually from a builder that at least set timing to zero. I don't think you will ever know the full potential of an engine unless you at least set baseline timing, now ask yourself, how many of us actually set baseline timing, much less even check it. I'm guessing very few, myself included.

How do i set it a few mm back then to take advantage of this change exactly?

just like it sounds? move the flywheel back some before i snug down the bolt that hold the flywheel on?
lost as to proper way to adjust...

thanx

There is a arrow mark on the stator plate and a line on the cases that should be lined up together now. Simply make a mark on the cases that is 2mm before the current mark, loosen the 2 screws that hold the stator plate, and line up the arrow mark on your new mark on the cases.

OR buy MSD total loss-biggest bang you will ever see for a motor!!!

I use a timing light to set ours up at 24 deg static, most of them have been close to 2 mm with every kinda fw you can think of with msd enhan, but i would be real carefull moving it 2 to 4 mm without a timing light

You can see the 2 raised dimple marks on the stator, they are 5 degrees + or -. The end of the raised boss (edge) is 10 degrees + or -.
