FX-1 Adjustment washers for bed plate?

In the course of my build I've managed to lose a number of parts. Last night I realized I do not have the large washers with the notch in them that the engine mount bolts go through. I believe these are a 'cam' style washer that facilitate engine alignment. Is it possible to align a engine without these, using large stainless washers instead?

Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this?

They're just regular washers, they don't do anything for alignment. I've heard diff stories of why the notch is there, but none of them involved alignment. A good stainless fender washer should be fine.

i was curious why the notch was in them as well..
