Squish is the clearance between the top of the piston & the tapperd band on the outer edge of your head, measured at the closest point.
When you use an aftermarket head, it is important to check this clearance as it can vary from stock. If the clearance is too small, your engine will detonate it's brains out & melt pistons. The octane rating of your fuel can also determine what squish clearance to run.
