acl revision

So i don't get to ride untill next year, as i sit here on my couch icing my knee. Acl revision & minicus trim ends my season of riding. Kind of a bummer since i just freshend up my ski with a fresh top end, crank, TBM charger and carb kits after The Daytona Motosurf.

My knee had issues before but i think i aggrivated the acl trying barrel rolls on the beautifull sunday surf in Daytona. I sucked it up as long as I could but I finally gave in and got the surgery. My right knee kept popping and giving out. Its been 4 days since the surgery and i can bear weight on it so i hope the rehab will go quick.

I have to say that the procedure has come a long way in the last 19 years. When I had my first acl reconstruction (on the same knee) it took like 6 months to recover and almost a year to be 100%.

I still hope to come down for the next daytona trip but i may have to leave my ski behind this year & just work on killing my liver:)

i get an update from my doctor tomorrow. Mabee I'll do a Knee Health thread and ask them what they recommend for knee strength.

i am just bummed and had to talk about it.

l'm 3 years out on my acl surgery. Are you not going to rehab? Mine (rehab) started a week to the day after surgery.Ouch! lt doesn't bother me to much jet skiing, but snow skiing really kills it for the first few times out each season. Lots of good info on the skiing forums about rehabilitating on your own.

rehab starts tomorrow. surgery was wed. i was just bumm'n. i did get the pics of the old and new ligaments today. the old one looked like spagetti.

I'll be back in action before i know it. I'm actually able to walk on it already. Night and day experience from the last time i had it done
