able cylinder

I dont know anything about this type of cylinder. I can get my hands on one for a reasonable price. I heard that you can only use an able head on them. Is this true? Are they any good for freestyle?

Old school cylinders, better off with with one of my big bore 61x cylinders if you are freestyle/freeriding. Plus they weigh a ton, nowhere as light as the new ADA big bore 90mm billet cylinder.

Let me tell you.. it ROCKS!!! but good luck finding one. They were only made for a few years back in the early 90's and most of them you find are worn-out and heavily race ported. I was very fortunate to find one unassembled and un-ported on ebay. I had it ported for freestyle use by Paul Lehr @ LPW. Couldnt be happier.

The ADA cylinder is very similar and still available.

Finding one that hasn't had the porting modified for racing is hard to do. If you can have a reputable builder visually inspect it and provide feedback on its potential for your application before buying it, I would.

My buddy has one built with a 5 mil stoke that is a great freestyle setup. Like the others have said, they can be touh to find and most of them are race ported.
