ive never seen a rod get bent from trying to start a hydrolocked engine. i know it can happen at higher RPMs though. can someone confirn rod bendage from hydrolockage at startup?

I was wondering about that. If you could bend a rod at startup, that would mean that the starter had enough torque to do it - very doubtful.

I heard somewhere that starters spin around 400-450 RPM... maybe Freestylegeek could work the math for us!

One time my friend bent a rod in his dirtbike trying to roll start it, but I'd guess he had to be going over 500 RPM.

Same here...it's been done to mine a couple of times now, and it just didn't do any damage. Yet.

a starter on a non-hydrolocked engine might do that, but i cant see it spooling up those RPMS when the engine cant even make a full revolution.
