99 sxi pro taking on water while towing in

As the title states I had to tow in my sxi pro this past weekend and when we got back into the laucnh I had a good 8 inches of water inside... wondering where this came from? Do I have a bad seal around the shaft area? To further this, whenever we're done skiing this ski has more water inside than my superjet does... some could be blamed on the falls of the particular rider has.... but still wondering if i have a larger issue...

Had something similar happen to my SX back in the day. I'm assuming the bilge outlet gets subjected to positive pressure when being towed (as opposed to negative pressure when the jet unit is generating thrust), and as a result water enters the hull (and engine) due to this. You can buy plastic clamps that can be used to pinch bilge/cooling lines whilst being towed. Your broader issue could be down to a multitude of possible causes (hood seal/shaft seal/bond line integrity/plumbing issues, etc). I don't recall if my SX was any better or worse than my Superjets.

Be sure your engine did not flood with water. You can't really tow with any speed or the water will come in.
Pull plugs and crank motor see if water fly's out of spark plug holes.
