98 SXI Pro Water Weight Gain!!

Yup, I'm the same one looking for an SXI Pro hull. It just occured to me, given the knowledge base on this site, that I should have asked this question first. Best I can tell, the cooling water supply line from the pump to the motor has cracked. When I run the ski, it fills the tray and gunnel foam with water. Since the water is trapped in the foam between the hull halves, it doesn't drain so the ski is now VERY heavy. Anyone have some tips on how to cut this open and repair the line. Thanks!!

I would just cut the whole tray out like this.

Then you can fix whatever is broke, refoam and install footholds if you want to as well. Or you could go foamless and just install a drain plug and drain it after every ride. Personal preference really.

Cool man, thanks!....I don't want to screw up an cut some thing that i cant see....where would you recommend i start in the tray.....I have a 4" grinder to cut with.....about how far down are the lines????.i only want to fix what is broke; not add to it.:twak: any other suggestions are welcome!!!!

so the sogga continues....cut the hull and FULL of H2O, defoamed and found nothing, preasure tested & nothing, See pics. So cut in to sides of tray to look at the rest of the exhaust...... did you know that there are TWO hose clamps on a rubber expansion joint at the end of the silencer to connect the exhaust to the rear port!!!! the freaken things were both loose WTF....So let the reglassing begin, after a water test however. any suggestions on refoaming.....should / not. what should i use if i do?

BTW::::::GO RED WINGS !!!!!!! Stanley is coming home!!

yeah, so far we are talking with a glass guy i know in galsburg, we used him alot when i worked for Alljet. He is really good. He says he can refoam, shape it and then glass it back over, but we will see. We have to fix the thing first then leak test it. Chevyll are you still playing with yours?
