Super Jet 97 superjet runs at idle when at WOT for a few seconds before taking off.

I just picked up a 97 superjet last week and finally got it out on the water today for a shakedown run. When I bought it the psi was 150 on both cylinders and for the most part it ran good. Only one thing had me scratching my head, a few times it would stutter and stammer and go basically at idle when I had the trigger pulled tight to the handle, after a few seconds it would take off. I was told it was on it's original plugs and I am planning on swapping those but I'm wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions on anything else to look for? Maybe clean the carbs too?

definitely clean out the carbs - especially the internal filter and all passages
use compressed air and carb cleaner

If that thing actually is on its original plugs then the guy definitly lacked and maintanence. So yes I would definitly go through it. Replace plugs, check wires, clean carb, make sure all lines and hose look good. Also I like to replace the headgasket imedeiatly even with good compression. it is cheap to do, only takes about 45 min and it gives you a chance to see what kind of condition the motor is in.
As for your issue. I picked up a 96 that had similar issues and it was the carb. clean it and tune it. check reeds and if that doesnt work, then rebuild the carb.

extremly simple,
take off plug wires
remove cooling lines going to head
remove upper exhuast and bracket
unbolt and remove head
clean all debri/ old headgasket off so you have really clean metal again
put new gasket in
put bolts back in
torque in order... 1st time around stug up all bolts, 2nd torque to 18lbs, 3rd torque to 22, I go around once more to double check final torque
then just replace everything.
