96+ handle pole recomendation

Well I am tired of screwing with the stock pole, after redoing it 4 times.

I am thinking either x-metal, or UMI. What are the pros and cons of each, I seem to be very hard on a handle pole.

Also what steering setup and turnplate setup should I go with? I know I am gona do -2 pole, and 0 degree bars. Should I go -1 on the turnplate as well? My -4 stock pole was awsome till it broke.:woot: My steering and turnplate were stock though.

Sorry for being a newb. Thanks in advance.

^^^^^I think i am putting it back together with the 61x motor, a friend is going to buy it. I am putting the 780 motor in my SJ then I will have a complete extra 62t motor.

I will still get some pics of the seat. I realy like how it looks from the back, but the side doesnt look as good as a stock seat. The idea was to take 15lbs off the top of the ski.

No matter what people say, i think weight makes a difference, even just 15 or 20 lbs. Especialy when you are talkin flat water. My ski has a 7lb lighter battery, and no added weight of reinforcement and it feels so much lighter in the water then any reinforced boat I have ridden. I cant wait to get my waterdawgs hood, and eventualy a Custum hull built. I cant imagine how fun a 240lb boat would feel, even with just a simple ported bigbore motor.

............Thanks for the replys, I was leaning that way.

if you want a sexy pole go X-Metal, but if you break poles go AC w/ X-mwtal or wammer style bracket. Just my opinion though. X-metal and UMI are cast top and bottom AC is welded Alum all the way. AC may bend but wont break. It is also cheaper.

Pat's X-Metal poles may have cast ends but he did redo the castings twice in pre-production models and now they don't break even in most severe conditions...but as always any fool can break anything....
P.S. if you break one of his poles, send it back and he won't leave you out in the cold as he's one of us!

werd up bronson... pat bogart is the handlepole pimp daddy. there were lots of his poles at the sebby trip (my boat included)

his xmetal stuff is all top notch. pick up his hood hooks and his entire steering setup too. also make sure you order at least the -2" pole.. -4" would be my suggestion. ;-)

True, thanks, I was just thinking with 0 degree bars and a -1 turnplate, that would just be too short. I realy liked how the -4 pole felt with all stock stuff. It sucks not havn the net at work anymore, thats why I am not around as much.

I think I have my B1 sold, I want the waterdawg hood kit next. Oh yea, my big bore is going in my boat while I am down, along with some Cyclone foot holds. The B1 will be sold with a 61x motor.
