96-07 RN SJ sponsons

So my last ride out a few weeks ago ended with me finding that I have snapped a sponson off. They're getting up there in age anyway, an old set of Tom21 sponsons when he just started taking over for #zero in making them. The water finally weaseled its way under the added 3M 5200 sealant and snapped the leading 1/4 of the sponson off. I'm thinking about going back to the original hull and leaving the sponsons out entirely. Has anyone else done this and liked the original hull configuration better without them?

I have never owned an rn with or without sponsons but I have rode both, and i own sn's without any sponsons.

I gotta say I prefer no sponsons on the 90-07 bottom deck. I feel like its more responsive I guess.

If I bought a superjet with them I wouldn't rip them off but since you have to I say role with it and don't replace

I think I have to agree with that. It seems to me that I remember it being a lot more fun to ride without them. I wonder if they make barrel rolling harder to do? I'm already struggling to do them, any advantage I can get in making that happen is a welcomed one lol
