96-07 ride plate on 08+

So it's winter season now up here and I'm messing around with upgrades on my skis. I'm planning on changing a few things to make my 08 SJ more 'lites' racing friendly (also looking for a 760 cylinder)
Found a 96-07 SJ riva groovy plate in my parts stash that I was going to swap in for the current flush/D cut plate on there. Can't really go and test it until spring, so looking for feedback/experience on using that instead of a 08+ specific plate. Looks like it'll stick out like the stock plate plus a little more...

The only difference between any of them is what holes are drilled out. You'll have to drill those center holes to mount it on your 08. Performance increase over your stock plate is pretty marginal.

That is a decent plate, I ran one when I first got my SJ in 99. Raced with it for a season or so. Interesting, buddy of mine bought one of Tera Laho's old Promod SJ's. It had this same plate except they filled in the grooves!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya, i was planning on drilling them if I was going to actually run it. My current plate is a stock one cut flush to the back of the hull (not sticking out like stock) plus a D-cut. Just wondering if this 07 plate on installed on my 08 would be too long for most people. If so id sell and get something else. Im guessing from looking around that the 08+ plates are shorter?

OEM Plate is the same as that RIVA. They just changed the drilling. Original SN Plates had the 6 holes. You can see the boss for it. They just changed in 1996 when the RN came out, then again in 2008 with new SJ Hull, they went back to the front 4 bolt holes, But the plate is the same.....
