Hey, I'm interested in buying a 95 Sea Doo HX with a 720cc. I was wondering if anyone has any comments/advise about this ski. I would use it as a kids, wife or guest ski, but wanna have fun on it myself. My original thought was a B1. How different are these two skiis. I may have one locally for $1000.

Anyone know the specs on this ski, and the B1?

A few things ,the fuel lines are junk ,replace them with regular automotive fuel line, every piece of it,keep the ex pipe bolts tight, clean the carbs and the fuel valve while you are at it,they are probably stopped up because of the bad fuel lines, change the jet pump oil because its probably never been done or they don't remember the last time it was, clean the fuel filter, just spray it out with carb cleaner. It has grease fittings ,use them and grease it often.Cut the spark plug wires back 1/4 inch and put the boots back on.Other than that enjoy.

IMO not a good friends ski. They are fairly narrow making them unstable for people that aren't used to it. Blasters are wider, but you sit higher causing the same effect.

Awesome fun ski though, especially with UMI steering and a FP and impeller.

I disagree since they require skill to ride they make a great guest ski, saves gas ,oil and trips to the emergency room.

Good tips, I have a 96 GTX that I pull the kids around on I think I may need to do a few things to it. I have never done any thing to it except change the pump oil.

Do these also need new fuel lines.

I have 2 and love them. I'm fairly light at 150Lbs, but I can stand ON the seat without the ski tipping over. Getting on in deep water is a challenge for some friends, but once on everyone likes the ride. It made a good surf boat, too. 10ft + waves are a blast on the HX.

Yes anything with gray fuel lines is susceptable, the gray fuel lines are not alcohol fuel rated,it breaks down the inside of the fuel line and stops up the filters in the carbs and the fuel valve, fuel filter etc.

I race an hx
Personally for a friend to ride i would rather have them on a blaster
Its a more reliable ski and easier for them to ride
Nethier ski is going to be easy for them to get back up on when they fall off

^^^ Yup, your right about that... I rod this ski a few days ago. It rode very well, I'm pleased with my purchase!

I stopped and tried a deep water mount and after floundering around a few times I got it. An inexperienced guest may be in trouble after falling off.

Nice ski though! Not as boring as a couch.

...

side mount it from the left side, rev it up,slap it down and let it drag you up at first....there way easyer to sidemount then a b1 due to the seat shape. My b1 still catches me in the sac time to time damnit that hurts

one note... the hx is designed to cut through the water and does not jump well, while the Blaster w/ it's flat bottom bounces on top of the water more. The reason it will clean up on the Blaster on CC...
