Clean the terminals really well, then check. If the SJ battery is still not getting it to turn over quickly, new battery would be the next suggestion. My ski had a weak starter - I went through a few batteries because a new battery would spin it fast, but then die out quickly (drawing too many amps). New starter, and it works with a near dead battery... electronics are always awesome.

That's not what I wanted to hear about the starter. I will get a new battery and see what happens there. Probably a good idea to take the ebox out and clean everything... On the compression, I know that's low. plan is ride it for a summer then take the 701 out and get it rebuilt. Put that motor in my superjet and take the 650 I have and put in waveblaster. the 650 runs like a top, just put a pipe on it and the waveblaster will have a great motor. And my superjet will be BA.

Ehhhhh, 659 pipes and heads are harder to find than you might think. Almost not worth the trouble. I'd try to find a set of 61x cases and cylinders , use your 650 crank and get a piston kit for it. Then buy a pipe for that motor. The 650's were good and reliable, but in a blaster... Gotta be slow.

Don't you have to do some mods to the crank? 61x cylinders have a longer stroke correct? I know the pistons are bigger as well. I would be amped to do that instead, trust me. Also not sure the blaster is the perfect ski for my girl because they are a trick to ride so I might be selling after the summer...

well that makes It easier then I thought. Now the next question is where the hell do I get those parts? Do you just replace pistons or do you have to change rods as well?

You can post up a want to buy thread, your crank and rods will work, I want to say the bedplates are different also. If you want to PM me I have cases, cylinders bed plates and a brand new 82mm piston kit I would get rid of. Or pm Jetmaniac. He's got it all also.

Sounds like a plan. What does a mod like this cost estimated? Also one more question, what the heck is a bed plate? I have already emailed Jetmaniac on this a couple hours ago but if you have it all then that works. so in short, take top end off engine. replace piston heads,( rings blah blah blah) and just bolt new topend and everything right back up? I know how the motor works but never done internal work to them... Or do you have a thread that explains it in full?

You'll need:
intake,
carbs/carbs
reeds/cages
bedplates (connects engine to motor mounts
cases
cylinders
piston kit
head
possibly engine coupler.
Probavly a lot more $$ than you wanted to spend, but worth it. I'd plan on spending atleast a grand, using your crank.

1000.00 was what I was thinking it would cost. Not bad but the difference is well worth it you would say? Once that mod is in place the next is a factory pipe and I should be doing double back flips hahaha. jkjk.. ""carbs/carbs"" does that mean dual carbs or am I reading that wrong? Also we are talking about the 92 super jet correct? don't want to confuse each other...

ok, I figured that's what you meant but I need a bigger carb is what you are getting at. more fuel needed for more hp. well I think I will go that route this winter because I am at that point in my superjet relationship... any other pointers would be appreciated.

You can run a big single. It's easy to tune and gets good "fuel mileage" compared to duals. Is this a surf superjet or for lake applications?
