650/X-2 92 JH750 swap into 91 650sx

Courious to know if anyone has done this??? I may get bashed for saying this....but 650sx is a turd, and my turd is maxed out. It runs great, fires up everytime, westcoast head, pipe.....but its the kia of the jet ski world.

Im wondering if a 92 JH 750 can be swapped into a 91 650sx without major problems. From just looking at a picture of the engine, looks like I would have no problem. No replacement for displacement. I know superjet SN can be swaped from several other ski's (blaster, venture, 701, 760).....Im wondering if Kawasaki is just as easy.

Will it be worth my time/money?? Or should I just save for a superjet??

btw...I can't even sell this turd for 600 bucks (91 650sx, ride plate, intake,.....)

650/750/800 kawi all use the same plate and motor mount set up. a 750 is a direct bolt in. Its a very easy swap. The only hard part is that some of the 750 performance pipes are very large and do not fit in the hull well. If you swap motor, electronics and carbs, then use your aftermarket 650 pipe, it is avery simple process.

How do you think it will perform?

I have riden 800's, but never a kaw 750. I think Im pushing 35mph, maybe 38mph with Skat 5 prop.
One thing I do like about this ski....I can ride for 15+ hours on 4.5 gallons.

It is a simple swap and it will be a little better than the 650. Find a 750sx E-box and mount it flat above the battery.

adding a 750 into a 650 is a great upgrade but 35-38 is not anywhere near a maxed out 650. i believe 38 is stock.
also, 15+ hours on 4.5 gallons? must be going downhill...

That's what I was thinking. Stock 650 hardly moves, though add a few upgrades and the thing can get bookin. And likewise, 15+ hours on 4.5 gallons seems a little off...unless you idle around the whole team.

My 650sx had a 44mm mikuni carb and a 15.5 prop. It was otherwise stock. It was pushing 45. My 750 is a little faster and gets going a fair bit faster.

If you're doing 35, something is wrong with your boat.

You mentioned a pipe and a head. The carb is the biggest upgrade for a 650sx. If you are running a stock 28mm carb, you need to upgrade that. The 750 is an upgrade, but I was pretty happy with my 650. I only went to a 750 because it was cheaper to buy a used motor than rebuild my 650, so I went 750. If your 650 runs good, just fix w/e is wrong with it. I would have fixed mine but I needed a bore, new crank, new head, pistons... basically the only thing left on my 650 was the cases.

Total swap takes like 3 hours. I use a west coast pipe and water box. The hardest part about the swap is finding somewhere to put the other skis ele box and changing out the exhaust manifold studs cause you need a 650 manifold if your gonna use the west coast pipe. 35mph sounds really slow. I know my moded 650 with stock bore was killing 750sxi and SN super jets all day long. 750ss are cheap and a dime a dozen. And they have smaller ele boxes if your just gonna run the other skis box.
