I like the 97 eric malone video! I believe it took a higher skill level, plus I think I counted +/- 22 different tricks or trick variations. The other videos were aprox half the tricks, BF after BF after BF, yes impressive but repetitive. Mix it up, old school skills and new school skills, keep the tempo up, get down to business instead of waving at the crowd. Keep in mind, my heros early in my day were Scott Watkins, Rippenkruger and Burlew. I use to rewind Jet Dreams and other videos I purchased over and over analyzing these guys.

^^ this is what bugs me the most. From the first time I saw a free style video. Too much damn waving and putt'n around. It's a timed run, make use of the time, ride fast in between tricks... acknowledge the crowd after you just laid down an action packed, high paced full run. Not after every trick.

I'm gonna be totally honest, I don't even notice the waving while I'm doing a routine. It's almost like a natural reflex from landing a roll or something, especially landing a one handed or no handed whatever. I think its just cause we aren't on the gas as much as we were back in the day, so we're able to take our hands off after each trick. Those 2 minutes are seriously adrenaline pumping too, anyone who's competed understands what I mean. Kind of feels like we need to get with the crowd in the down time, but thats just my $0.02.
