here is my situation...

i have 2 SuperJet SquareNose's 90 & 93..

i'm thinking of redoing one of them and i want to improve the handling and ease of riding for me. i am 5'-9" 195 lbs and i mostly ride flat water lakes around here, jumping boat wakes, some tricks etc.

i was thinking of adding tubbies (2's), a longer ride plate (jet dynamics), blowsion hull extensions, and worx scoop intake grate.

the ski just seems to back heavy with me. porpoising and turning are an issue.

i may put money into the engine but for now it feels plenty powerfull

I would personally say don't touch the hull... YET. Sounds like you just need a little practice. The ski will ride on a plane and be plenty stable once you get more used to it. Work on throttle control and weight balance.

Once you master the stability, then you'll have a feel for what hull mods will suit you best. And you WILL want more power :)

My 91 SN seemed to ride low in the back, and when I cut it open to put in footwells I found out why. Damn thing had soaking wet foam.

I couldn't see putting a longer ride plate or hull extensions on an SJ. They don't porpoise at all compared to say the 750 Kawis.

Maybe shorten the pole and get your weight more forward. But the more stuff you put on to keep the nose planted, the less fun of a ski it wil be.

hmm i dont know...i never thot of that ...this is a stock SN from 1990 (original turf too).. both btms are pretty scratched up bad im gonna repair and repaint em soon .. maybe the foam is water logged? ... i never thot of that ... i lifted em up (this weekend) in the back and compared .... the one i ride is heavier in the back ... hmmm....

i wonder something else ... the trailer that this guy kept them on had only btm rollers on it .. which have left marks etc .. on the btms... i thot it was bad for fiberglass to be stored or used on rollers because it will eventually deform it .. anyway i built some carpeted bunks for the trailer so i got the pleasure of moving them around this weekend.

so thanks for the input cus that really makes me wonder now...
