Super Jet 90 SJ Issues

Just bought a modded 90 SN and took it out for the first ride of the season this past weekend. Rode for about 15 min before I realized I was running on one cylinder so we pulled it out of the water. When we got back home we took a look and one of the plug caps was partially disconnected. Reconnected that and checked to make sure I had spark in both cylinders. Spark was good and fuel was moving through the lines, so we cranked it again. It would turn over once then quit.

We pulled the ebox to make sure the heat sensor was disconnected, fuse is good, wiring looks good. Pulled the carb to check the fuel filter and that was clean too. Bypassed the fuel selector switch and ran fuel line straight to the carb, still wouldn't stay running. Compression is good too. Any ideas? I'm running out of places to look. Thinking it's a fuel issue. Would clogged needles/jets cause the motor to quit running after it fires once?

My ski recently was doing that. Was the stator. My ski had spark but if you pulled a plug while cranking the spark was all over the plug. New stator and ran like a raped ape again

Good call. I was gonna go stator next. I have chased so problems in the past and it ended up being water in the fuel, thats why I always start there now. ntrsspray is on it, test stator for known values and go from there.

I have never checked a stator before. What is the best way to do it/what should the known values be?

Have you tried eliminating other factors and just poring some gas down the carbs and see if it runs first...??

Bypass SS Switch and see if it runs ??

You can measure the stator resistance ( open ebox ) disconnect stator wires and measure but I would try the other stuff first

I poured gas down the carbs yesterday and had the same result as running gas from the tank. It would turn over once then quit. Could it just be that the engine isn't running long enough to get fuel moving through the lines? They are pretty much dry right now. I will try bypassing the switch to see if that makes a difference too.
