800 sxr exhaust help and question

ok so there are two kinds of exhausts for the 800 right?

factory dry pipe and the wet pipe.

i know the dry increases HP,
and the wet increase low end - ( what does that mean "low end power"?)

whats the best one to get for freestyle and that isn't going to sound annoying after riding for an hour?

thanks!

Low end power refers to how much power your motor makes in the lower RPM range. I like the way my dry piped SXR runs, and it's not very loud. Quieter than a b piped SJ. I haven't ridden an SXR with a factory wet pipe so I can't tell you how they compare.

for Freestyle, you want the Wet Pipe. The Dry makes incredible power, but is very rough on cylinders. Have seen several that crack them selves or the cylinders crack.. One case the bottom of the cylinder cracked completely loose from the Top half.

no, the wet pipe is pretty quiet as well.

It all really depends on how much water you run through your system. I have heard both that were loud and others that are quiet.

MaCluggages ski's are always pretty quiet.

On the head pipe, there are three water adjustment screw on the wet pipe. Basically you start out with all of them closed but one, that one you can start with it being only about 3/4 of a turn out from closed. You go from there by adjusting all three til it runs to your desired handling. You can never have all the adjustment screws closed. The best way to check is run a good carving session on and off the throttle, as soon as you finish running your beat session, pull the cover off and splash a little water on the chamber directly after the head pipe, the water should lightly sizzle. This is the best way to check for water flow and exhaust temp.

Kawis are pretty quiet skis for the most part. Keep you stock waterbox and the rubber nozzle on your exhaust outlet and it will sound like a stocker.
