300/440/550 79 440 motor to 92 550 hull

I have a 79 440 thats cherry and enough power for me until I can get down the basics. There is a 92 550 hull in my area for sale for $50 bucks, would this be a basic bolt in? I like the look of the 92 and the rear exhaust helps. Can anyone help me out. Would I have to change the mounts? Thanks to anyone who can help out a newbie, I searched the forums in advance but couldnt find anything..

the 92 was a reed engine and the 79 wasn't. i'm sure the engine will still fit but you will need to reroute the exaust.:pancake:

your better off tryin to sell your 440 and use the money to find a 550 or even 650 motor for that hull IMO. i almost bought that thing myself!

440's on craigslist for best offer

Im taking everyones advice, the js440 is up on craigslist as of last night. Im going to save a little more money and get a sn superjet. Now that ive done some research it seems that this machine has the most aftermarket availability and can be built into a descent surf machine on a budget. Thanks everyone for the advice.
