760 yami coils?how are the boots connected

Give you a cheap hint/alternatitive, go to a Kawasaki dealer, get a 750sx coil, about $35-40.00.......... same as OEM Yamaha that goes for about $80.00-90.00...........

kahuna,i thought i read you talked with paul about it,he didnt say how to replace the boots?
I wonder if the 760 coil wires are like the MSD stock improved coil? The MSD wires are fiber type conductor with a very light guage copper wire wrapped around it. You have to use the MSD terminals and boots or else you will not get a good connection. I always use an ohm meter to check for continuity between the plug caps to check for bad wires or boots. The stock superjet coil reads about 4.5k ohms with stock boots, the MSD stock improved reads about 2.8k. I wonder what the 760 coil reads?? If it is supposed to produce more voltage then it must have a higher ratio of turns like the MSD.

Well I tested the idea of the salt ground,went out at night and ran it,sprayed fresh water all over it,no problems,added some salt to the spray bottle and,the front boot,grounded out in 5 secs,the intire plug boot had orange spots inside of it,a few tiny places on the wires had little orange dots also,the front boot had a couple tiny holes in it,I couldnt really see where it was arcing to the head or anything.
The caps on the actuall plugs were starting to screw off,this may have added to the problem,So I changed plugs and cleaned the boots and it still did it.So how do I replace these boots???????????????????????And how do ya keep these freckin plug caps from unscrewing,I had them as tight as i could get them with vise grips when I put them in,I cant seem to find b7es plugs without these crappy screw on tips?

I know that they make the non screw on type plugs. I buy the B8ES through a local shop here in my area. The guys at all the cycle shops dont seem to be able to get them for some reason. Give RD a call at Youngs Performance 615-449-2373. He can get them for you or maybe at least give you the part number.

I don't really understand what you need but pm derm if you need him to bring a spare coil. Napa is usually pretty good about spark plugs. But I really don't think you'll be riding the b1 over the sj in the flats plus you say you're only having a problem with salt anyways :dunno:masterblaster said:

yea,mark it will possibly be fine,but its looking really bad in salt,and if I drag this thing all the way to the lake ,it would be nice to have it for sure fixed
