300/440/550 '76 Kawi 440

Hey guys whats up! I'm new to X-H20 and somewhat new to stand up jet skis. I just bought my first stand up. It's a Kawasaki 440. The engine is amazing. I guess it was rebuilt and made to run in the sea and to race for the Amateur racer. Guy couldn't keep up with the payments and had to sell. A lot of aftermarket parts. K&N air filter, Kerker pipe, and some other cool things. Got this thing for $800 for just the ski. No trailer was involved so I'm on the lookout for one. It runs and it has a crazy paint job on it haha. Later on in the future I'll be getting it repainted to probably an all white but for right now all she needs is a new battery, alignment on the handle bars. I guess it leans to the left some, and then some other little accessories that I will need for it. Just washed her today and took a toothbrush to a lot of the little cracks and she cleans up nicely!Well just tell me what you think! I'm ready to learn a lot about these amazing skis.Cheers, Alex

the two things that usually cause a lean are hull extensions in the back and sponsons. I looks like you don't have either?

Clean ski! It will always lean one way while sitting in the water. Some of my js hulls lean really badly. They're just really narrow and not weighted evenly on both sides.

yeah just be sure to strap down your battery when you put it in . one of my friends had me rebuild his 440 and after i had a few hours of work into it he took it to the lake without strapping down his battery and it shorted out on his cdi box and fried all the wires and almost burned it to the ground/water . lol I warned him and so I politely told him that i would not be the one re wiring it.
