750sxi wont run

just picked up a complete 750sxi the other day that had been sitting for 2 years bone stock for 1k, before i start throwing on all my parts i want to get it running properly, did some digging last night, got it to turn over but here is the issue i am noticing.
when fired it will back fire a couple times run for 10 seconds or so and then die. It has a clean spark fuel seems to be pulling from the tank (pulled the lines and fuel was flowing) but was not flowing into the carbs. now before i tear anything apart anyone know of anything obvious it might be? was gonna start with a carb rebuild and go from there.

Carb rebuild sounds like a good idea. Mine plugged up after a year of sitting, two years probably got to it. Also, add a fuel filter in the supply line. Cheap insurance

pulled the carbs off over the weekend and am gonna go with a rebuild for now, pretty plugged up and did add the filter over the weekend, if the carb rebuild doesnt do it i will update.
