Freestyle 750sx skat 9-17 impeller

Is this stock on my 94. I have no torque (pop) at all, but once my ski is moving it does well. Want to change the impeller so I get some pop or torque. I do not care if I lose top end. I am starting free style wave jumping:arms:. thanks guy

i just got a Skat 10-18 (large hub i think). will be trying it out this weekend. do me a favor though, look at that stock prop of urs and see if it has any numbers or markings on it. i just pulled the prop outta my ski...im thinking its stock, there are no pitch numbers or brands or part numbers marked anywhere on this thing...wondering if thats typical of the stock prop

perfect, thats exactly what i pulled out. looks brand new! not a single ding or scratch... back to the main topic there though (sorry to have temp thread jacked) with that 9-17 Skat (as long as its in good shape) should be giving u the low end pop ur looking for. if its not, u may wanna check a few things: Compression of the motor, also check for any kind of binding in the drive train. if u pull the spark plugs and intake grate, u should be able to reach in there and turn the drive shaft with ur hand. u may also wanna consider installing a R&D timing advance kit on ur motor. that helps with the low end aswell.

i asked same question and this is a response I got from a fellow member. I copy/pasted :A Concord 12-18 will make more thrust than an old Skat 9-17. A deep scoop grate is needed for traction. Higher compression and advanced timing will help throttle response but make it easy to melt a piston on high speed runs

Do not advance the timing unless you do it with a MSD or other variable timing brain. An advance to the timing without changing the curve is ONLY if you plan to improve the bottom end. I had a 6 degree timing advance plate on my 750 and melted my pistons. I had other issues like carb tuning that caused my motor to fail, but It will inevitably cause problems if you want to run WOT for extended periods.

With that said, I still have the plate. i think it was made by R&D and I think I still have the plate and the screws. It's fairly rare now, but I'll sell it to you if you want it(like $30). It can give you more brap on the bottom end but don't use it if you plan to ride bouy's. MSD is a lot more expensive but also a lot better product. The plate I have is good only because it's cheap fix.

funny someone else said that, I dont think my new 9/17 big hub makes any difference compared to my old 12/18 concord. If anything it cavatates more.

I added the R&D advanced timing plate on my sxi-pro. I thought it improved the bottom end. I am WOT for maybe 5-10 seconds then off it. Never had any issues/problems, been riding with this for 3 seasons. Note- some other mods; wiseco piston bored over, milled head, Moto Tasinari reeds, factory limited pipe, RAD lighweight flywheel, 9-17 ST big hub, short cone, bored nozzle...

Note above- a gasket comes with the R&D adv timing kit.

not to thread jack but was the flywheel worth the money? I was thinking about getting mine lightened but I herd some people say it dosent make a big difference.

I considered lightening my stock one but found that the material removed was not as significant as the lightweight one, I forget the weights. I came across a RAD lighweight flywheel on ebay and bought it for $325. It did give better throttle response, every mod I did seemed to help. The $325 that I paid was worth it, although the $600. that I have seen for a brand new one is definitely pricie, I prob would have lightened mine if the ebay one didn't come along.

I did pretty much all my mods in the winter. Here in Michigan the riding season is 5-6 months (short, sad). I always found it difficult to gauge the mod cuz there was so much time in between.

I know this is an older post but i have a limited 750sx and right now it has a skat 9/17 standard prop in it. I want to get better bottom end and i was wondering if i could run a skat 12/17 swirl which is recommended for a limited 750sxi. What do you guys think? Or maybe lol i will wait to put my new R&D head on my ski and see what that does.....

I have a full Coffman pipe, aftermarket head, high compression domes, a timing advance kit. So what would be better?
