SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750sx keihin twin carb lazy lowend

Hey!

So i'm asking for a buddy of mine whoms ski were trying to get to snap and pop =D

It's an 94 750sx with wetpipe, timing advance and keihin 40mm dual carbs.
The issue here being the lazyness it has from idle to 1/4 throttle, i have read that we might have to adjust pop off pressure, and that sounds fairly good, but the problem here being that i cannot find any place that will sell spring and needles for the keihin..

So, will mikuni's (superbn 38) springs or needles fit the keihin (cdk2)? Or is it possible to try and snip a piece off of the keihin's springs without ruining them (as the spareparts are nonpresent)?
or any other ideas as where to start looking?

Oh by the way the ski has br9es plugs, would it matter to try it with br8es or br7es plugs?

use br8es in the 750sx
Kawis are slower to get up and go than Yamahas
so it will never have the low end grunt of a superjet
jetworld http://www.jet-world.net/partsacc/carbsintake.asp has all the keihin parts you need

i use br8es as well. and yeah pop off is what you need to get your idle to 1/4 throttle tuned right,

mine have the dark silver springs and the needle arm is bent just slightly up from the carb body. pop off gauge is almost a necessity to get em both equil. i have mine set to 35 psi and its snappy, same mods as you.

Get that pop off up and try opening the bottom screws...I chased this same problem for like 4 months
