I am re installing my TL on a new short block. However there are no holes to bolt the timing plate on. Do I need to tap those? Sorry if this is dumb but I didnt install it on the other motor.

Yes you will, do you know your seal is in backwards and I hope thats not black silicone you sealed up the cases with is it. I think your ok because the seals are double lip but some seals are cut to run a certain direction.

And the black sealer is Suzuki engine sealer. The guy showed me what he used
