1996 750 sxi ran last year until bendix busted.
Flywheel threads were striped so welded a nut on and used a bolt to push against crank snout and pull flywheel off. New bendix and reassembled. Couldnt get it to start. Realized that a chunk of bendix metal was lodged into the pick up coil!!! After removing that and cleaning it up still won’t start.
Got fuel
Got good spark
Only ignited once or twice trying to start for minutes.
Backfired once out of the exhaust super loud!
The pick up coil has 512 ohms (within spec)
Guessing it’s a timing issue.
Maybe the woodruff fell out when reassembly?
