750 SX build

Whats up guys, pretty sure this is my first post over here, Ive been on PWCToday for awhile.

I bought a 93 750 SX, pretty good shape came with a bunch of goodies; aluminum pole, bars, quick turn plate, V-force reeds, TBM spacers, dual 46 Mikunis, 2 skat props, ocean pro ride plate, scoop grate, Factory dry pipe w/ ECWI, ocean pro swirl head, MSD ignition enhancer, bilge pump w/ switch on bars, and an R&D intake.

I plan on doing:
REV footholds
Wet wolf cone
X2 trim
dual cooling
New gaskets, and maybe a top end (781cc?)
turf and paint

I'm thinking that an ADA head might be a good choice, I'm not too sold on the Ocean Pro, do you guys think its worth it, or should i just run the OP head?

Also, are dual 46s too much, I'm not trying to set any speed records lol, just have a fun ski.

Looks great. I like how you cut and modded the rear of your tray. i am in the middle of building my '92 750SX, also installing an X2 trim. I might do my tray similair to yours to help get full tilt up on nozzle.

Thanks guys. Ive made some progress recently, but mostly body work. I'm hoping to paint this weekend though, as long as its not too humid. I installed a 1/2 inch aluminum cooling line, and a 1/4 in brass tube (hobby store, 2 bucks!) through the hull for the trim cable. I have some paint work to do on my truck so I'm gonna get two birds stoned at once, my ski will be 2008 Toyota Tundra white.

I have a question about doing my top end, if I do it I want to go with 82mm wiseco's and an ADA head. With that bore should i get the SXR domes?, and will the compression figures they list still apply?

The body work is finally done! White base with green pearl because Kawasaki. Engine bay got a 2 part epoxy primer and a thiiiick coat of epoxy appliance paint.

I started on the turf, I finished the bottom with 16mm of under padding, but i haven't done the sides yet. I don't really like how the turf lines up on the outside of the tray, so im working on other stuff right now. I tore down the motor and got it ready for pain, rebuilt the carbs etc...

I found out that my stator is trashed, the kid i bought this from was really good a cross threading bolts. does anyone know if there is a difference between 750 SX and SXI stators? im looking at a few on ebay right now.

Trim isn't the simplest install but its not too bad if you have the ski apart. Worst part is getting a tube through the hull to run the cable. i started at the back by drilling a hole where i wanted the cable to exit the hull. Then i took my angle grinder and cut some small teeth into the end of the tube, chucked it up in my drill and cut through the foam and bulkhead (did the same with extra cooling line). I got a little lucky and hit the bulkhead right where i wanted to. the big hole, which is usually open to the foam (i filled mine with resin and chopped fiber and will be sealing with 5200) and my cable will run right between my hull and battery.

Looks like a nicely set up ski. Sounds like you want more of a freestyle ski and less of a race ski? If so I have some suggestions based on what my brother did to his SXi pro which is set up for wake jumping and low end.

His set up has tons of low end. He has a freestyle ported 800. The 800 cylinder has low port timing but not as low as the 750sx, so you are good there. Instead of boring for more CCs I would spend money on porting. Also a 750 limited wet pipe would be a better all around freestyle and low end pipe. That 750 dry pipe is ok, especially with ecwi but its heavy, adding lots of weight to the nose. Also the 46s are good but not essential. I have 48mm Novis on my race prepped 800 pro but honestly my brothers ski with stock sxr mikunis feels really good considering the cost difference.

I would lean toward:
Cylinder ported for low end
750 limited pipe with ecwi
Advent t3
Tubbies to lighten the front end and increase maneuverability
D cut stock ride plate to do same thing
13/18 or there abouts swirl impeller.

That's about it. Some days we have 4 750 skis out and they are great value for the money and can be good all around skis. Pm me for more info if you would like

That advent T3/T4 looks pretty dope, i bet it can make a big difference. A total loss is high on my list right now. This season i think i just want to get it back together and start enjoying the summer. I got my stator and flywheel on the way so this weekend should net some good progress.

So i got my turf done and started on the re-assembly. Anyone know where i can get the spring that goes between the Bendix and cover?

I'm considering eliminating the water temp sensor, primarily because it complicates the waterline routing, and I have a 1/2 in line dedicated to engine cooling. None of my previous skis have had any issues, but I can see its value. what do y'all think, is it worth it?

Pretty much have it done. All i have to do is finish putting in the cable for trim, wire up the water injection module, and bilge.
