IMG_0319.JPG IMG_0314.JPG I bought a 750ss for parts but need to know what parts can be used in an X2. It has a single carb 750 but will any other parts transfer over to an X2 i.e. Motor mounts, pump, drive shaft, intake grate, rideplate, etc?

leave the whole motor and electronics together. mount the 750 electrical box on the gas tank where the oil tank was. get a westcoast, Coffman or other quality pipe. that exhaust manifold wont work so get one off a 1991 or newer 650sx or x2 or one off the 650ts since they all have the diverter or an aftermarket 650 3 bolt manifold. the motor mounts will work but that's all. the rest is 750 only and some only 750ss ssxi. oh, and the driveshaft support bearing will work. you might get a few bucks for that rend rideplate and that 750 pump with the aftermarket prop in there. lol. don't throw that gas away and use the oil in the oil bag too. the gas cap and filler neck are good and in a pinch, you can use the oil cap for a gas cap.

Throttle cable makes a good backup cable.

You can shelf the 750 pump in the event you ever want to do the pump conversion, same for the intake grate and pump shoe, (whole tunnel if you are cutting up the hull) but it's a lot of work so you are better off selling it.

Not sure if you ever want to build a 650sx, but the 750ss and the 650sx have the same driveshaft, except the 750 has longer splines to work with the 750 pump. So, if you ever put together a 650sx with a 750 pump, you'd want the drive shaft. Otherwise sell it.

Good info. I'm shelving the motor for a future X2 build if I can ever find a nice stock hull. Thanks for the response.

That version of the 750 is 8hp more powerful than the 650
But a 650 with a factory pipe and sbn 44 ,is gonna outperform the 750 with any pipe other than the limted pipe

From a performance stand point westcoast is garbage im sure there's a coffman pipe that performs but would take custom fitting like the limited pipe does fit ,but by the time you do that your at the 55-60mph max hull speed limit

Westcoast pipe +6-8hp
Limited 24-28hp
Venture to say 16 17 18 coffman

I personally would build a custom alluminum wraped in hydroturf gas tank
Get the limited 750pipe ,port match it get a lightened flywheel from #zero
Mill the stock head at napa for 40$ bucks .25 thou should allow 89octane up ,you have a fast x-2 it will go as fast as the hull will go
,I would get a sudco 42mm or like blackjack tru 44mm ,not 46mm

Skat 9-17 or repitch it to 9 10-18 more speed little less bottom, end power

  • There are cart tanks , you have a kehin cdkll 38mm actuall 34mm why they do that ?

The only other carbs l would use is a 42sudco kehin or better sbn44

Your carb will need rejetting for sure

I run a pjs tru bore 38mm kehin cdkll im sure it will run to 60mph maybe 70mph

You really wanted a ssxi or bigpin 750 they are 10-15 hp more powerful than your ss version because they have raised exhaust ports and altered timing built in

You may beable to put a ssxi cylinder on your bottom end ,but l doubt it ?

Thanks for the info but this is what I found when I pulled the motor. the rear piston took out just about everything so the whole motor is junk except for the top half.
