SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 modded compared to SJ

I know my carb tunning is still off but should my ski hit as hard as a SJ with only a pipe?
I'm running 180psi, mod pipe, ported 800cc, skat 9/17, bored nozzle and prok filters.

I rode a friends rn sj and was shocked at the difference in just off idle snap. I figured mine would be comparable but its not even close. could my rich tuneing be killing that much power? it runs smooth, just not alot different than it did when it was stock.

i dont know how it is ported
by Kawi is a race ski and does not have the bottom end thrust of a Yamaha
no matter what you do to it

Thats what I'm afraid of, It runs strong on the top end and mid range, just no bottom

It was ported by Zforce to get more low end, same reason I stepped up to the bigger 800cc bore

you could try an MSD and timing advance, if you know what you are doing
and get some more improvement
of move to a yamaha platform

I dunno if its just that my friend and I have our skis dialed in just right but I have only felt a couple sj's that had a better hit than my ski. One was a big-bore and stroked and the other had TL and big bore.

But put a 650 flywheel on your ski that'll help big time.

I bet its just the tuning. I know mine was a little doggy this year on the low end before I got it in tune. A well tuned Kawi will be every bit as snappy as a Souperjet! Lol

yeah, i'll try tuning it this weekend. I know its still rich, It smokes quite a bit at idle-1/2 throttle. I'm gonna start leaning it out and see what happens.

I really want to prove these yam guys wrong I ride with, All I hear is "I told you so" lol

Yamaha is a short stroke motor and it's gonna be hard to get that kawi to have that punch or hit right off idle, flywheel helps alot but also costs $$$$ r&d spark advance helps also and only sets your wallet back $40... That 750 should be a mad man on the top end and that's where the superjet falls off, I like both skis but I love my 750

The Kawasaki pump isnt as efficeint below about 15mph. Is your engine fourcycling from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle? If not the response will suffer.
