750 midshaft

so I was pulling my 750 to try to get the d@#n flywheel off
and the midshaft slides forward . . .
Arent they supposed to be pressed on?
It slid right back into place and bearing feels fine
- no wobble, smooth, etc.
Is this normal?
Will it run OK?

Normal.
Driveshaft floats in bearing housing. Must be remove from inside the hull
