701 or 760

You will find that the majority of people recommend the 61x 701 cylinder with the 62t cases. A good build would consist of the following...

61x cylinder
62t cases
ADA girdled head
factory B pipe
650 flywheel/stator
single intake adapter w/ 48 carb (or dual 38s or 44s, depend on budget)

or... use 61x cases if you are just keeping to a real strict budget, with a 44 sbn.

There are TONS of threads about all this, but most people suggest 61x cylinder, 62t case, ada head, and B pipe.

i have a 62t 61x with my own porting (just the transfers cleaned up and exhaust polished) twin 38s and b pipe and it hits a hell of a lot harder than my mates 760 with the same mods i think 44s would be better but have not got there yet there will be mixed opinions on here but my vote is 701 62t 61x

i like the 61x also. but crammit442 had his 760 motor reported by jetworks. hits harder then any ported bb ive riden . arts got it going on. some of you guys are really missing out on some raw nasty power. glad my ski is powered by the man.:cool2:

Start with a 61X cylinder w/62T case, stock is a great place to start w/ bolt ons
Then step up to Big Bore re-sleeved 61x cylinder.
And yes! I've also been called "Your The Man" too...

P.S. see the reason in my sig.

apparently the 650 flywheel is the lightest OEM, correct me if I am wrong?

Haven't weighed them, but even so, the 650 and 701 (61X) flywheels and stators are the same, so a 61X 701 setup will work too, but I believe the 701 CDI has a higher rev limit than the 650, so look for a 701 box.

The 650 and 701 61X flywheels are the same, they are slightly "lighter" than the 62T flywheels.

Bore a set of 61X cylinders to 84mm and then you have a nice 760

I have 1 62T 760, 1 62T 701 and 1 61X cylinder on a stock bore.
From what I'm reading on here I should dump the 62T's and use the 61X.
However, there are those who swear by the 62T.
The more I wait the more confused I get. :dunno:

I'll be happy to take everyone's 61x cases and 760 or 701 62t cylenders off your hands then. I"m in desperate need of boat anchors.
