7 year old on 650sx

I know it's illegial but we ride in a cool area with no other traffic. Jacob my son on my Kawasaki 650sx, 44sbn, intake, westcoast exhaust and pipe, pjs water pipe, skat impeller. GPS'ed at 43.8 yesterday standing up. He has been riding for about 20 gallons and can ride 45 minutes without coming in. He usually gets on his knees in a fast corner, turns sharp then right back to stand-up, WFO until he is ready to turn again. I'm so shocked how fast he picked this up.

Wow ,I'm surprised the PC police haven't chimed in and scolded you .Usually starting off a thread with "I know it's illegal but" is not good .
People usually frown on kids of that age riding but as long as your teaching him proper boating procedures and not telling him to jump wakes I think it's cool .

yep. If you can keep them away from docks and couch riders they should be pretty safe. :icon16:

Great shots of the little guys:Banane01:

Had my 3yr old standing on my longboard today. He learns to swim better then I'm throwing him in the tray. He already knows how everything works and fires it up with a handfull of gas:lmao:

We have strict rules when it comes to riding!! My kids now have to wear helmets. They are also alot more responsible than many of my friends I ride with. I have almost been killed once this year by a 50 year old friend of mine who doesnt look before he turns. Then last week we were riding in the swamps and he about smashed me again!! This time i flew into the wetlands under a tree smacked my head and my ski torpedoed through to the marsh on the other side.. Freaky!! My kids are very aware of there suroundings!! I dont let the little ones ride where there are boats.. Boaters will kill kids..

I'm super safe with the boy. He already has taken boating courses. Driven many hours on our boat and couch with me on the back and knows the rules. Sails very well too. Where we ride we only go on weekdays due to traffic. The rules are no other PWC in the water (too shallow for boats so no worries), only ride on flats, never more then 300 feet away from beach. When we ride together he is never within 50 feet of me and if I catch him turning without looking he's off the rest of the day (not happened yet). He is very careful and has never fallen off the ski either. Other rules are he cleans and flushes the ski he rides, forks over his $5 allowance for the $20 in gas he uses and mixes his oil and gas (math to keep him thinking). I told him I would give him the ski if he makes dean's list for a year straight (so far most A's and some B's with a behavior U in religion...Doh). I grew up on the water and turned out ok and think he is taking the same path.

Very cool....
I started teaching my nieces to ride the Sea Doo years before they were legal(with me on the back). That way when they get to the legal age they aren't out there being totally clueless idiots. They are much more aware than other kids their age.
If done in the right place with the right rules I think starting them young is great.
