Cylinder configurations are referred as 5 port cylinder and 7 port cylinders.
The 5 port cylinder means it has 5 intake transfer ports feeding the intake charge into the top of cylinder from the lower crankcase.
A 7 port cylinder means it has 7 transfer ports feeding the intake charge into the top of cylinder from the lower crankcase.
The exhaust port is not counted as all cylinders have 1 exhaust port, and they can be referenced as unbridged or bridged port.
A stock Superjet/Waveblaster/Raider engine is a 5 port, while a GP800/GP1200R use a 7 port design and are a better modern configuration designed to make more power per cc.
X-METAL WORKS cylinders are freestyle bred and all use 7 port design in our engine sizes from as small as 735cc all the way up to 1040cc in a twin cylinder 62T/64X case based engine.
