French company Compositech, which is experienced in manufacturing composite parts for high performance F1 motor vehicles, has just shifted its expertise to personal watercraft. The company is proud to launch the new CY7 Personal Watercraft - a 100% carbon prepreg and handmade hull that weighs in at just 65lbs! :Eyecrazy:
In the limited time that the hull has been available it has already won the 3rd round of the 2006 Freeride world championship and the 2006 world cup, with a little help from rider Gil Beurnier. The use of carbon composite materials has allowed the Compositech design to achieve a more streamlined shape on the top of the hull, as well as including the dashboard as a complete part of the structure which has improved the visibility and control of the craft.

WOW:bigeyes:

Question. Carbon fiber is very strong and light when complete, but I have heard that any little nick in it, will weaken it tremendously. Anyone in the know?

I can just see a rock chip in the bottom of a hull like that, that renders the hull useless.:dunno:
