650sx.....won't start (FIRE IN THE HOLE!)

ok.....what's wrong with this picture........:sneaky: :banghead: :sneaky: :banghead:
its too bright. its too close. its not directly in front of the snout of the crank. the camera isnt being held level.

right those wrongs with a new pic and get back to us.

seriously.

hmm.... well 'normally' theres a scribe mark at 9 o'clock on the stator that lines up with the case halves. ill try to get a pic of one of my k650 stators that have the mark.

ok, no pic..... but the scribe is on the upper slot.... like where the upper stator mounting bolt is. if you look at the boos on the case, where the stator bolts to, youll see that its kind of 'arrow' shaped. that arrow points to where the scribe 'should' be.

do you have a scribe near that slot?

no because the metal is missing from the beginning of the screw slot to the end, that is why they put the oval plate in.........none of that was my doing.....sounding more like I am going to have to locate a unbroken stator plate and swap the coils on to it......providing the plate is "scribed"

you will be able to see where in the 'raised "ovular" area' the bolts sets in. crab, if you have a clean one, please do.... the stator in my shop is a bit rusty

that's what I thought.....right in the middle of the slot......but I am missing that lip on the stator so I just assumed to try eyeballing it in the middle.....should have at least popped, eh? I was going to pull the stator completely out and ohm it to see if anything is "open"......but one of the heads on the stator wiring harness mounting plate (by the bendix) is fubar.......arrrrrrgggghhhh......lol

yeah sfl....that part is now easy.....but geez I was hoping the kawi would be the easiest of the bunch to get going........
