300/440/550 650sx replacing wires

I am in the process of replacing the spark plug wires on a 650sx. So far i have got to cdi out and bought new wires. Now what do i do, i was told to just pull the wires and then grind out the remains and there should be a post that the new wires will go on to?

Anybody do this before

ha, I tried it before. its was not happenin. after a couple of minutes of trying to cut that rubber stuff and almost cutting my finger up I finally gave up. let us know if you find the screw posts in there. I think I did like a deep slit to see what was in there and it didn't seem like it was the case. let us know. I just bought a used one and got back to riding.

you all will probably laugh but i cut mine back so they were only about 4 inches long, took brass screws screwed them into the wire cores, took my dremel tool and cut some nice sharp points into the head end and screwed my new wires right on to them. i also used dielectric grease at the joints and used heat shrink to protect the joint, they worked great for a long time.. good luck!
