My 650, which has had a multitude of different issues is now having two issues that are particular troublesome.
1. My ebox and starter have been replaced with new parts so I don’t think the problem is due to rust or wear. Anyway, clicking the green ignition button on the ski works just fine (a little faster spinning than i remember but works nonetheless) for the first two clicks of the button, but after that the starter refuses to spin the engine despite mashing on the start button (no clicking, complete silence). The strangest part of this ordeal is that the whole cycle will repeat if i wait for a decent amount of time.
2. My engine will start and run for about 2 seconds before being drown out and dying again. Initially I thought it was the fuel lines, but those have all been replaced. I’ve attempted to open up the carburetor (Mikuni 44mm) and rebuild the pump, but the carburetor is from an old ski that was run in salt water and the screws refuse to turn and threaten to strip at the slightest turn of a screwdriver.
Sorry for the rant, it’s late at night and i’ve been working on this D**m thing all day trying to get it figured out. Any help is appreciated.
