I have a 1990 650sx. I bought the ski blown up and put a new stock 650sx engine in last summer and went through the whole ski. Ski ran flawless all last summer with no issues.
This summer has been nothing but problems.
My ignition/CDI box went out. So I bought a new WSM ignition/CDI for it. I installed that and it fired right up.
I then took it to the lake and got 1 full day out of it. I thought it was fixed. The second time at the lake I got another full day and right when we were going to leave the ignition went out again.
so I ordered another WSM ignition coil, put it in my ski and it fired right up again. This time I got another full day, a full tank of fuel. The ski ran great. But at the end of the day, no spark again and the part has failed again.
Is there something causing my CDI/ignition coil to go out? Or are they WSM ignition coils just junk. Makes me wonder because my OEM ignition coil went out and that’s why I bought a WSM one.
