300/440/550 650sx help

Hi

i have a 1988 kawasaki 650sx and i had the motor rebuilt and bored 2mm over and i also got a mikuni 44mm carb. and it has a wet wolf cone.

And when i pull the throttle the ski is faster at half throttle then at full throttle what would cause this? and how could i fix it?

Well you could adjust the carb with new jets n needles. Do the 44s have air/fuel mixture screws??? If so then you can start leaning it out.
Someone might be able to tell you how to adjust popoff. I am not familiar enough with it to explain it.

pop off will affect the low end. you have a high speed adjustment screw and a main jet. this might help a bit. read the sbn tuning manual.....it will let you know how your carb works.....or close. you might have a round body mikuni....this manual if for sbn.

when my throttle was like that i needed more fuel at the top. but i am not an expert someone tuned it for me.

It sounds like your high speed jet is the wrong size.

I would pull the diaphragm plate off and remover the valve body to see what size main jet you're running.

which style 44mm carb do you have ???

is the body of the carb round or square ???
