Location

when i bought my 650sx it needed a battery; i installed a new one, charged it fully and went to start it again about 2 weeks later and its completely dead.

i dont have a bilge on it yet.

where should i start to check for a draw on the battery when the ski is off? someone said to check the start/stop switch...?

Take the positive cable loose, hook up one lead of a test light to the battery and the other to the lead you just took loose,if you have a current draw it should light the test light unless it is very small ,in that case you would have to use an amp meter hooked up the same way.Do not start the unit this way or you will fry something such as your meter or test light. Now start unplugging wires till your draw goes away,I would say more than likely it would be a bad rectifier-regulator in this case.

install a Battery Tender

Buy a battery charger from, Battery Tender. Look it up on the internet and don't convince yourself to buy a cheapy..
Hook up the jumper pigtail direct to your batter terminal and just plug it in when you park the machine. Battery Tender will float the battery properly and will extend the life of it. You will always have a full charge in the battery.
I have Battery Tender's on my '07 800SXR, Seadoo 3D and Mariah boat.
