300/440/550 650 exhaust gasket?

I am in the process of installing my new SBT. I have everything I need except one gasket. I am running a 750 motor with 650 exhaust in order to fit the 550 hull. I forgot to order the gasket that goes between the exhaust manifold and the piece that goes between the manifold and the mariner pipe. Could I use a diy paper gasket here? Or even a combo diy gasket/rtv to seal it up?

I want to get ski finished tonight so I can break-in and tune the new motor friday (working 15-17 hours tomorrow).

thanks in advance :1zhelp:

that's what I was asking. I think I will reuse the old gasket with hi-temp rtv on both sides. I think the paper one may get destroyed on second thought. Definitely going to order a new one from AJS tomorrow.

I am a fan of the copper rtv in a spray can... it kicks ass. That is what I used on my many many many times used exhaust gasket.
Isnt the gasket between the Manifold and headpipe a metal gasket? I thought it restricted flow to the head pipe and therefore had to be metal.

yes, it's a metal gasket. it's all a moot point now. My new sbt had a crack in the case near one of the studs. They were quick to take care of me though and I'll have a new one here monday. GREAT customer service!
I'm also getting the correct gasket as well.

good to hear.

I use to cut all my carb gaskets by hand, never had any problems with them, I have done a few Manifold to head pipe gaskets as well, but never had one on for long term use but no problems either.

Ouff! I ran mine without a gasket for a whole 15 minutes and it overheated like a mofo. Better keep an eye on it.

Ive made my own also from thin and it works great.
