650 & 701 Flywheel the same ? E box ?

Couple of questions for completing another project.

Is the 650 & 701 Flywheel the same ?

Is the 650 & 701 Stator the same ?

What are the differences in E Box ? Or what are actually the differences ?

And how can you see ? are there any numbers or indications ? it on the stator/flywheel/cdi unit ?

Thank you

Chris

stator and flywheel are the same.

Eboxes are the same except for the CDI unit.

supposedly only difference there is the REV limit is 7400 for the 701 unit, and 6500 for the 650 I think.

The interchangable flywheels have a D shaped cutout in the face. They are 650 (6m6) and 701 (61x).
The 701 62t flywheel has O shaped cutouts in the face. The 6m6 & 61x flywheels are slightly smaller in diameter and won't fit on a 62t stator. The 62t 760 flywheel looks totally different.
Most of the OEM CDi's I've seen have marked either 6m6 or 62t.
E-boxes shells are the same.
ebox guts are all interchangable except for the 760 cdi

clarification

Is the 650 & 701 Flywheel the same ? >> YES AND INTERCHANGABLE

Is the 650 & 701 Stator the same ? >> YES AND INTERCHANGABLE

What are the differences in E Box ? Or what are actually the differences ?

>> ONLY CDI UNIT

And how can you see ? are there any numbers or indications ? it on the stator/flywheel/cdi unit ?

THANK YOU !

Reviving this thread with another question that I have searched for but not found.

Can you use a 62T electrical box on a 61x if you change the cdi in the e-box to a 61x?
The 62t e-box wires going to the stator seem to be different colors then the 61x stator wires??

thanks for the help!!

you can use any combo of 61x and 6m6(aka6R7) stators and f/w's with any cdi. the 62t cdi, will need an adaptor wire for the white lead.

if you use a 62t stator or f/w, you have to change the other to 62t too.

so to answer your question... yes, you can use a T elec box if you change the cdi to an X for use with your 61x or 6m6 fw/stator. you can also use the 62t cdi with an adaptor wire to run with your 61x/6m6 stator.

How about this....I have a 650 superjet, 6m6. I am putting a TBM lightened flywheel on it, so I am going to use a 62T stator to run this flywheel. According to TBM this is what I have to to. My question is does that sound correct and is there going to be a problem doing this when I have a MSD ignition in my e-box???? anything helps...thanks

The 62T stator wires are the same except for the white/red strip wire. I forget how it goes but the wire has a female end on one stator and the other has a male. You can make up a gender changer jumper wire or you can cut the end off and swap it out from the other one to make it work.
