62T swap from a raider to blaster1

I finally got my hands on a 62t with the dual carb setup!!!!:Banane09:

so i took the engine out of the raider and went to line it up on my blaster and it seems the pipe is in the way, and i also read from another post about someone sticking with 61x bedplates. i still have the ones for the 62t case that came with the raider.
I also heard of somebody using the raider waterbox in a blaster. if anyone can give me some tips to point me in the right direction id be very thankful.

one of the guys in our ride group built on like that last year... he still hasn't ridden it yet though.

ill see if he has some pics to post up.

the nice thing is that motor is rated at a higher HP than the 62T/61X 701.

:biggrin:got the engine to fit with the raider pipe. a lil grinder action to make room.
just gotta rig the waterbox situation up and mount the electronics. heres some pics

my bro and i got everything all together. the only clearence issue was with the electro box. didnt fit in stock location cause the pipe. but we moved it over to the right near the carbs. could have probably rigged it better but also came to a problem with the battery cables being to short.
We used a westcoast resonator from a kawi650sx to the stock exhaust exit. i have a stock raider waterbox but its huge and looks way diff from the one u got. i went to stick the raider box in the rear and i would have had to cut alot of foam out.
Its all together and we cant wait to splash it tommarow and see what happens. Were expecting alot considering our blaster came with a single carb 6R7 engine.......

if i could post pic i would. i did the raider piped blaster last year. matt blacked the ski and never rode it yet. lol raider water box in the rear . rear exhaust. tbm pump cone. mines is the same as yours (the cut in the side) there some room around the pipe. i turfed the inside of the hull . should work well with the stock pipe. i was just tired of a.m. pipes falling off all the time. (most of the time when the waves are the best all year ahahaahhh)

id like to see more pics of raider boxed blasters, we ran the engine on a pallet all hooked up and on the water with the stock raider box..
its LOUD with the westcoast resonator only. ill prolly address that issue tommarow or next week

oh yea how did you all go about routing the pipe thru the bulkhead. i got my blaster with the bulkhead all hacked up as you can see in my pics. i cleaned up the edges with a grinder

holy crap!!! just got back from first test run!!!!!!

This engine makes sooooo much power, the ski jumps so much easier out of the water, and goes so fast!!!!!!HUGE DIFFENERENCE over the lil 6r7 that used to reside in my blaster. and my bro and i are prolly just gonna leave the pipe sticking out the side. it looks awesome and kind of reminds me of a sportbike. and it sounds awesome with the westcoast resonator!!!

i would recommend making that hole a bit bigger for the pipe and glassing over it with a bubbled space for the pipe. thats a big hole in the ski for water to come in.
