ah, playtime powersports. i remember them. they were mainly a polaris dealer that went out of bidness when polaris stopped making couches.

anyway, i wouldnt go with WSM pistons. they are JUNK. its got WSM rods too.

....and dont get me going on the F.A.G. bearings
:haha:
i would really upgrade the pistons i think but i have not heard much bad about the rods

hmmmmmmmm yeah there is truth to that, kinda why i was suggesting not to go thi route if he plans on building a super stck or anything. do you not think it would be good as a mildly modded or stocker though?

i wouldnt even use WSM stuff on a stock engine. it is trash. worse than SBT. not by much though.

I've built a few engines for friends that have requested WSM due to their budget. I agree that there are def better parts out there, but I have to say their machines are still running fine to this day.

In my shop I send my cranks to TDR ($375-400 + shipping) for rebuilds, or buy new hot rod crank ($500+shipping) New OEM's from Yamaha are real pricey now...about $675. Use only Pro-X or Wiseco pistons. A high quailty bore job in my shop is $60 per cylinder, as I ONLY use Sunnen honing equipment and is by far the BEST in honing tools! Oem Yamaha crank seals are the best... they will run you about $54 a set. Any aftermarket seals won't last more than 2 seasons IF your name is lucky!

sometimes youll get lucky with using questionable stuff like Sweatshop Built Trash and Wasting Some Money. crazier things have happened. i saw a running '72 ford pinto the other day.

what would it cost for a machine shop to press new bearings on a crank for ya? Like 250 total? (parts included, hot rods)
