I've searched and found a ton of stuff on how to destroy the stator, and I do know to do the rope in front cylinder trick to get the flywheel bolt loose, BUT,

How do I get the flywheel off w/o a puller? Is there a position I can put the flywheel to run bolts thru it to tighten bolts against case and have flywheel pop off of crank and not hit the stator w/bolts?

oh yeah, dumb ? now-is the flywheel bolt left or right hand thread?

THANKS GUYS!!!

The bolt is standard threads. I wouldn't try to remove without the puller. The only thing behind the FW is the stator. Screwing the bolts in to back against anything will destroy the stator.

what you can do if you don't have an impact is angle the bendix down, then stick something like a quarter between the flywheel and bendix so when you torque on it it's locked. just make sure the end of the bendix is not still in the bushing or you can damage it.
