62T cylinder with a 61x head??

I pulled an engine out of a 01 Yamaha xl700. I am putting it in a 93 SN. I have swapped the head that was on it (62t) and put a 61x head because of the stock exhaust bracket mount location. Will the 61x head work?

You will need to put helicoils in the exhaust manifold bolt holes on the cylinder.

62t cylinders use larger hardware than 61x.

I drilled out the exhaust mani bolts to take the original hardware. I would've used the heli coils but I'm not a fan....

Drilled out exhaust mani bolt holes to accept the larger diameter bolt that is on a 62t cylinder instead of using heli coils.

Good advice, the water jacket flow is matched on the gasket to the head.
